Hello and welcome!

Where it all started:

We’ll work seamlessly with you or your planner to ensure a perfect photography plan for your day and make sure your wedding doesn't end up feeling like a photo shoot.

We believe that communication is key and that your priorities are our priorities on your wedding day!

Born and raised on the west coast, Katie has been living in NYC since 2009 and shooting weddings since 2006. Katie holds a BFA in Photography & Imaging from the prestigious Art Center College of Design in California.

Katie Osgood Photography was officially started in 2010 and added videography a few years later in 2015. Our team has grown from just Katie into three video shooters and one very talented editor.

ABOUT THE APPROACH:

When it comes to those portraits, some couples need lots of direction, some need less. It’s all a matter of feeling it out, working with your needs, and giving clear direction when necessary. I want to keep you moving so I can learn how you and your partner interact. This is how I get those candid looking shots that so many couples come to me for.

You can read a little more about me and how I think about and approach wedding photography in a short interview in Rangefinder Magazine when I had the honor of being one of the 30 Rising Stars of Wedding Photography 2013.

Your wedding day shouldn’t be a photo shoot. At least in my opinion. You should have plenty of time to mingle, to hug your friends, sip champagne, dance your ass off, whatever! You should also manage to take a few really great photos in the process but it should be a painless experience. That is what I aim to do on your wedding day. I don’t care for pointless photos and faking an event that never happened just for the sake of a photo. There are plenty of real and special events on your wedding day and those are the moment worthy of memory.

FAQ

HOW ARE THE IMAGES DELIVERED?

HOW DO WE START THE PROCESS OF BOOKING OUR WEDDING?

Wedding images are delivered via digital download. You'll get a link to a web gallery where you can view, print, share and download your photos. You can download them one at a time or all at once. It's up to you. Web galleries are guaranteed to be online for 3 months but as of 2021 all clients since 2011 can still access their photos online.

I book a limited number of weddings within any given month to ensure all of my clients get most our of their wedding photography in terms of my time and my creative energy. Generally this process begins with either a video chat or a phone call. After we've gone over some details and confirmed our compatibility you'll sign a contract, pay the retainer and viola! You're booked!

What about my privacy?

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE BOOK OUR DATE?

Generally between 6-18 months in advance. Once you’ve booked your venue and set your date, you should book your photographer. I just feel terrible when I hear from someone hoping to book just a few months before their big day only to tell them their date isn’t available. Make sure to lock down your date before someone else does!

With what feels like the whole world posting to social media daily there are many of my clients who prefer to not have their faces plastered all over the internet. For those clients I offer two Non-disclosure agreement options for a fee which I can go over during our initial meeting.
