Summer is turning to Fall for us Brooklynites. We’re finding ourselves shifting between shorts and sweaters, rain and shine, dryness and humidity and in-between all the indecisive weather, we have mornings like this one. I met up with Anna and Morgan at the Prospect Park Boathouse at 8am on a Saturday. We came prepared with umbrellas in hand as it had been raining earlier that morning, but with a little luck never had to break ’em out.
As an impromtu plan, (we were orginally supposed to take the boat out on the pond), we decided to pile in my Civic and take some photos at the northern part of Prospect Park at the Farmer’s Market. We got some flowers, some apples, and even some cider in those oh-so-classic NY paper cups! Anna told me it’s what she and Morgan usually do on the weekends so what better place to shoot, right?! We walked down Prospect Park West and found a stoop to sit on for a bit.
I feel like the best shoots are often those that start out with a location and we just walk or hop in a cab and go with the flow. That’s the funny thing about NYC I guess, there is just so much inspiration at every corner. It’s no wonder so many artists live and thrive in this place. Just one more shoot that reminds me how lucky I am to do what I do and live in this city.
I’m truly looking forward to seeing Morgan and Anna next year in Washington DC at their wedding. Not just to photograph them but to get to know them better even still. Congrats you guys!
