My shoot with Chris and Abaan marked the third morning shoot of October. I’ve concluded that nothing beats Autumn mornings, nothing. The air is fresh, the streets are empty, (by normal Manhattan standards anyhow), and the light is crisp and cool. It’s absolutly amazing!
Chris and Abaan live downtown near Battery Park so we started at their place and just walked along the Hudson River, shot around the totally empty Battery Park then made our way back to their apartment for an outfit change. Easy-peasy. When we hit the streets again, the three of us decided we were all due for some morning coffee so we stopped off at Financier for a scone and a Latté. Once we had our caffeine fix, we assessed our location. Chris mentioned we were right near Zuccotti Park where the protesters for Occupy Wall Street were. Being that I hadn’t been over there yet and knowing it could make for some seriously interesting photos it was an easy call. We mostly just observed, I made a donation, and we took a couple photos. Since then, I’ve now seen Occupy Wall Streets in San Francisco, Sacramento, Los Angeles, and Long Beach.
Chris and Abaan are getting hitched this January in India and they are taking me along for the ride so spending the morning just walking and shooting around the city was the perfect way to get better acquainted with one another. Chris and Abaan’s wedding will not only be my first wedding overseas it will also be my first Indian wedding. Could I be any luckier? Keep an eye out for that blog post next year! Congrats Chris and Abaan! I’ll see you two in January!
