When I first spoke to Marie about what she wanted out of her wedding day photography she made it very clear that the portraits were the absolutely more important part. “Perfect!” I thought, “That’s the part I love to do most!”— When we finally met a couple days before the wedding, Marie had even taken the time print out tear sheets (mostly from Sex and the City photoshoots of Carrie and Mr. Big). Something I never discourage, it just gives me a clear idea of what my client’s ideals. It was totally Marie’s idea to rent a boat from the boat house in New York’s Central Park and have me shoot her and Nhan from the shore. It was a lovely idea and ended up being way easier than either one of us had imagined. All total, Marie allotted almost two whole hours to just portraits, which is a rare case indeed. It was oh-so-much-fun! We started shooting at 10am so as noon came around the light was less and less on our side, literally and figuratively, but we still rocked it. Kelly, of course, was there as my right hand man for the portrait session but I flew solo through the remaining two hours of ceremony and lunch at the Japanese En Brasserie. Which can I just say, was lovely!

Marie and Nhan had their ceremony under the Cop-Cot in Central Park and were joined by about 15 family and friends to celebrate. It was an intimate affair. I was totally honored to be included as their photographer. Marie and Nhan even had me be their witness! Marie and Nhan are exactly the kind of people who remind me how lucky I am to do what I do every day! Congrats and many many thanks to you Marie and Nhan!
