When I met Bohra and Michael last Fall I knew right away their wedding was going to be special and that I had made two new friends. From the engagement shoot to the big day working with Michael and Bohra has been nothing but a pleasure if not down right fun at times. Their emails alone were worth a good laugh at times. Michael and Bohra’s wedding extravaganza was my first wedding of many more to come in 2011. I couldn’t have asked for a better couple to start my year off right, fer realz.
The day began at the Andaz hotel on Wall Street where we shot the ‘getting ready’ and a few of the group portraits. Super beautiful hotel BTW. From Andaz we headed to Bridgewaters at the South Side Seaport by way of limousine for the ceremony and reception.
Michael are Bohra are both Korean so they decided to have the tradtional Korean wedding ceremony, a Paebaek. The Paebaek is usually reserved for family members but Michael and Bohra, after much deliberation, decided to share the tradition with all their guests. It was nothing short of entertaining and amazing! I don’t think I’ve seen so many people taking snapping photos in my life. I’m pretty sure I had an ear to ear smile during the whole thing! The ceremonies were followed by an dinner, dancing, and drinks– an all out good time indeed!!
A thousand thanks to Bohra and Michael for including me on their biggest day ever! Going through these photos just trying to pick my favorites for this blog post was tough (in a good way) so my apologies if it takes a bit to load, this is a long one. As I tell most people when they ask if I like being a wedding photographer, ‘I’m a gush and a closet romantic and I love people.’ So when I have wedding like this to go through it’s a little like watching a love story. Watching the moments play out again and again always bring a smile to my facesometimes even causes me blurt out an “ohhhhh!! they are sooo in Love!!” or even get a little emotional. I said I was a romantic right? This was one of those weddings for sure! Seeing the love on Michael and Bohra’s faces is a privilege and an honor and I wish nothing but the best for my coolest clients ever!
On Michael and Bohra’s big day I was accompanied by my favorite shooting partner and assistant Konrad Brattke who always rocks it! Gobs and gobs of props to you Konrad for your always positive and energetic attitude! The videography was done by the amazing Kaipo and his team from Fifteen Minutes of Frame you can see the highlight reel from Bohra and Michaels wedding here.
To Michael + Bohra: I’ve got nothin’ but <3 for you! Well, maybe a few photos ;)
