When I lived in California I never understood how the saying “April showers bring May Flowers” came to be. It just never rained in April but then it would rain and even snow (in the mountains) in June! Needless to say, I get it now. April has been, if nothing else, rain rain rain. As luck would have it though, three out of four shoots where rain was expected, the clouds have parted and the sun has come out. Last Saturday’s shoot with Danica and Nick was one such shoot. Talk about good luck right?!

First off, let’s note the very cute bow-tie Nick is sporting! Love it! Danica and Nick must be credited with styling themselves like pros. When they showed up in their blue and pink and a bushel of balloons, I knew it was gonna be a solid shoot! We walked around Mott Street in Chinatown then walked a few blocks west to a small park where the daffodils were blooming like crazy. One of the things I love about New York in the Spring– the tulips and daffodils. They’re planted all over the city in flower boxes, parks, random fences, in gardens, everywhere! My mom always planted them around our yard when I was a kid so to this day they always remind me of her. Besides, they’re pretty much the most charming flowers on the planet! Back to the shoot– from there we made a pit stop for a a quick wardrobe change then cabbed it over to Central Park. Lucky us, the rain had nearly cleared the park out so we had the place all to ourselves! Talk about luck!

Danica and Nick will be getting married this year in Portland, Oregon and if they’re outfits are any indication of their taste, I’m gonna bet that it will be absolutely beautful!! Danica and I are pretty similar outspoken ladies so we pretty much clicked as soon as we meet. I sooo enjoyed meeting and spending the afternoon with them and I wish them the very very best in life and love! Thanks for making my job such a joy you guys <3

I also must thank my very hand helper and friend for assisting me on this shoot Lilac Perez! You rock lady-face!!
