For Meghan and Evan’s wedding I got to make my very first trip out to Minnesota and I have to say, I couldn’t have asked for more lovely weekend! We had excellent weather and I got enjoy just a little bit of big city escape time. When I wasn’t shooting I took a couple runs through the quaint suburban neighborhoods of Minneapolis near my hotel. I swear that place is like a giant golf course, greenery and ponds around every corner! I ran by little league games, enjoyed the big screen in my hotel room, and even walked to a Target (a total guilty pleasure of mine) that wasn’t a total mad-house like the one here in Brooklyn, and of course– I shot an amazingly, beautiful and thoroughly  delightful wedding!

I met Megan and Evan over a year ago when I did their engagement session in NYC. My friend Valerie and Meghan worked together at the time so when Meghan mentioned she was in the market for a photographer, Valerie sent her my way. When I met Meghan and Evan they told me they had moved to New York together all they way from Minnesota. They wanted engagement photos in NYC, but of course, they wanted to be home for their big day. After all they’ve been together since they were 15 years old, so why not celebrate their marriage in the place where they fell in love?!  At the wedding, Meghan and Evan’s family tried to welcome each to the other’s family but not without mentioning that they really already were a member of the family, haha!

My favorite part of their wedding was at the very end. For the last song Pete the DJ played one of my very favorite songs, Billy Joel’s Piano Man (yes I know I’m nerdy). Nearly every guest at the reception formed a giant circle and sang along at the top of their lungs… not gonna lie, even though I had a camera up to my face, I totally sang along too! It was such a beautiful moment, I can’t help having a smile on my face as I tell you about it. At the very bottom of this post you can see some shots of everyone arm and arm. Enjoy the photos and congrats and thanks to Meghan and Evan!!
