Tori contacted me with the idea of shooting her engagement portraits in Times Square just after sunset with her and Jarrett in their New Years Eve party clothes. Here’s why– Tori and Jarrett are tying the knot this coming December 31, 2011 and wanted to do something fun and creative for their Save the Dates. Being that NYE has come and gone already, finding those crazy hats or poppers is a bit difficult in early March so off to the art store I went. I got glitter, some foam-core board, and of course, good old Elmer’s glue! And with the help of my trusty and talented friend Martha Hipley the ‘NYC 2011′ sign was born. Of course I sent it home with Tori and Jarrett to save and cherish forever and, of course, to sprinkle little sparkles of glitter all over their apartment, I kid, I kid.

Tori approached me with that idea for the first part of our shoot just a couple days before hand. I knew we were going to a park, but since we only had a week of planing to begin with we agreed that we would share links of shoots we liked, and brainstorm ideas throughout the week. BTW something I love to do with my clients! It’s all about coming together to make something we are all proud to say we were a part of! Anywayyyy…. Of course, I was completely stoked with idea of shooting with props, and the best part– Tori wanted to bring their dog Dallas!  Talk about a freakin’ adorable English Bull Dog, gahhhh! He was so well behaved too. The next best thing was shooting at Fort Greene Park. This was the first time I have shot there and I know I’ll be going back. Talk about an awesome location! It’s so classically Brooklyn to have a park and a skyline all in one frame! I feel so lucky sometimes to have such an amazing landscape and amazing clients to work and collaborate with!

Thank you so much Tori and Jarrett for being such good sports and congratulations on your Engagement!
